Famous Swedish car maker is back in the market with new
vehicles. Among them is a 2018 Volvo XC60, brand new crossover that is still in
development phase, but soon will be presented, at least as concept. Since this
is still fresh model from Volvo, we don’t expect any major change to a current
vehicle. Minor updates and some styling solutions are being prepared, while
power train range should be the same. Similar expectations are from price, which
could be only slightly modified.
2018
Volvo XC60 redesign
The
2018 Volvo XC60 is big car, whose designers paid a lot of attention to safety.
This could increase the chances of the company to reach top in this class,
where they started to slide recently. Innovations are needed and that is
exactly what XC60 brings. Side skirts are carried over, while headlights use
Thor’s Hammer styling. With revisited bumper and wave cut light on the rear
end, SUV is more aggressive.
Finally, larger grille should be last modification on
the exterior. Inside, due to increased length, there will be more space for
cargo. Also, passengers will have enough room for head and legs in 5-seats
layout, with easy access. Dashboard is revisited and use should be simpler.
Infotainment system will be upgraded with new audio system, while more
comfortable seats are expected.
2018 Volvo XC60 engine
The
2018 Volvo XC60 is going to use same Drive-E engines developed by company.
Also, dour-cylinder units are certain option, and displacements are only
variable information about new crossover. For improved efficiency, one of the
drive trains will be 2.0-l inline-four engine, with capability to deliver 300
hp. Also, 2.5-l Drive-E is possible, with slightly less power. At the end, V6
could be installed in the 2018 XC60 crossover with 3.0-l displacement and 320
hp.
2018
Volvo XC60 release date and price
Current models of the XC60 crossover are valued around $37,000,
and since there is no radical changes announced for 2018 year model, price
should be close to present. Probably slight increase is planned for new SUV,
but nothing significant. Vehicle will be presented during 2017 as 2018 Volvo
XC60, but won’t arrive to dealerships before 2018. Then, crossover will face
competition in BMW X3 and Audi Q5.
