2018 Mitsubishi Pajero hybrid
It is not surprise to hear that 2018 Mitsubishi Pajero could arrive as a hybrid model. Company is following modern trends, and one of them in fuel economy saving, is development of hybrid vehicles. Plans are to make 2018 Pajero powerful vehicle with superb mileage, which is only possible by combining electric motors with petrol or diesel units. Nevertheless, this move can make Pajero more interesting for US market, since it is more friendly than ever.

2018 Mitsubishi Pajero drivetrain
Power source used for hybrid combination is 3.0-l V6 petrol engine, which is paired with electric batteries, and its power output is unknown at this moment. Transmission is 8-speed auto, which could be also mated to 4-cylinder unit. Electric power should come from lithium-ion batteries. Sources say that drivetrain could be only from electric source, but with it 2018 Mitsubishi Pajero can’t reach high speeds. To improve performance, company will install S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control) on crossover.

All-new 2018 Mitsubishi Pajero is coming totally different than its predecessors. It is built on GC-PHEV platform, which keeps just few common things from current vehicle. Not only powertrains, but also look will suffer some modification. New, futuristic design should be accepted well, although there will be fans to criticize it. Overall impression about this 4×4 SUV won’t be changed, and its highlight will be superb off-road driving experience. Company is experimenting by mixing planned GC-PHEV with other platforms, XR-PHEV and Concept AR. Nevertheless, a little is known about this development, but as we are getting closer to 2017, when new Pajero should be  presented, we will have more info to share.
