2018 Lincoln Navigator

Full-size crossover segment in luxury class is not so cheap, but fans of these vehicles are always excited about new models. So it is with new 2018 Lincoln Navigator. New SUV is coming very similar to its sibling, Ford Expedition. We have heard that this vehicle could start a new generation of Navigator, and since development of that is not so easy, there is slight chance for crossover to be delayed for 2019 year. Highlight should be weight drop, and significant diet is leading to better mileage. Also, company is preparing some stylish and design changes to lure younger population.

2018 Lincoln Navigator engine

Navigator is not using huge drivetrains anymore. Old 5.4-l V8 was replaced recently with 3.5-l EcoBoost V6, and it is likely that this unit is going to be installed in 2018 Lincoln Navigator. Overall output should top 400 hp, with modifications for full-size crossovers. On the other side, new Navigator could reach 20 mpg combined, which is significant improvement from current fuel consumption.

There are other rumors telling that V8 could be used as a power source in the SUV, but it is less likely. We will have more information as the time of release is approaching, both of 2018 Lincoln Navigator and new Ford Expedition, since two models shares few features.

2018 Lincoln Navigator redesign

If new generation of the Navigator is on the way, many changes are possible on the crossover. From exterior lines and features, such as grille, bumpers, exhaust tips and lights will be revisited and probably changed. Design of these parts could be borrowed from Ford Expedition or F-150. We already said that more lightweight materials will be used. 

Split-wing grille could be in the mix with rounded corners, recently used by some other vehicles. Better aerodynamic is obtained with streamlined design of the roof. Inside, latest Ford Sync 3 infotainment system will be installed. Other changes will be cosmetic, including seats, upholstery and dashboard.

2018 Lincoln Navigator release date

Date of appearance of the 2018 Lincoln Navigator is unknown, but company will do the best to present it during next year. We still wait the information about new generation, which could make changes on both release date and the price of upcoming Navigator.
