2018 Ford Flex

Ford Flex established itself as multifunctional vehicle, so it could be described either as minivan, wagon or crossover. The vehicle brought at least a part from mentioned cars, including large space inside the cabin, great utility and comfort. For new 2018 Ford Flex, designers prepared only minor changes, since for the current model infotainment system was replaced. Instead of MyFord now we can get Sync3 system. Nevertheless, this could be last model of the outgoing generation, before Flex gets major changes and upgrades. Until redesign happens, we will get pretty similar vehicle comparing to its predecessors.

2018 Ford Flex redesign

New colors are being prepared for the 2018 Ford Flex. It is just one of many updates which should be done on the vehicle. We still don’t have official confirmation, but it is expected that new dashboard will replace the old one, while many details will be put around the cabin. Outside, 2018 Flex is almost the same as its previous edition, with revisited headlights, that use LED technology, and fog lights having most modifications. It will again get 17-inch alloy wheels and automatic headlights, with a lot of sensors and alerts installed to make the drive easier.

2018 Ford Flex engine

New 2018 Ford Flex will get the power from a 3.5-l V6 power train. New model will be a step closer to 300 hp, from current 287 rating.  Torque is also increased from 250 lb-ft, but we still don’t know exact amount. The SE and SEL models come with this driver train, while Limited trim is getting twin-turbocharged unit of same displacement, and with higher output. Top of the class vehicle can deliver 370 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. Transmission is the same for all trims, and it is 6-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to front wheels. There is no information about manual transmission and fuel economy, which should be boosted, and all-wheel drive system is likely to happen on 2018 Flex.

2018 Ford Flex price

Release date of the 2018 Ford Flex is still unknown, as well as price which could be predicted from current information. Since there are no major updates, expect this minivan/crossover/wagon valued just northern of $30,000 for base vehicles. Limited model should be around $45,000.
